Indian Recipe: Red Fish Curry
Ingrediants:
- Fish pieces
- 1/2kg
- Chilli
powder - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric
powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garlic
cloves (crushed) - 3
- Ginger
(sliced) - 2 tsp
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Button
onions (sliced) - 3 pods
- Curry leaves
- a few
- Fish
tamarind (soaked in water) -4
- Water - 2 cup
- Salt - to
taste
Preparation:
- Make a fine
paste of chilli powder and turmeric powder by adding some water.
- Heat oil in
a pan.
- Add onion,
garlic, ginger and curry leaves.
- Keep
stirring and when it turns slightly brown add the masala paste, and fry
until the aroma rises.
- Add the
soaked tamarind, 2 cups water and salt to taste
- When it
boils add the fish pieces.
- Cook half
covered on low flame till the gravy thickens and the fish is cooked.
