Indian Recipe: Red Fish Curry

Ingrediants:
  1. Fish pieces - 1/2kg
  2. Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  3. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  4. Garlic cloves (crushed) - 3
  5. Ginger (sliced) - 2 tsp
  6. Oil - 3 tbsp
  7. Button onions (sliced) - 3 pods
  8. Curry leaves - a few
  9. Fish tamarind (soaked in water) -4
  10. Water - 2 cup
  11. Salt - to taste
Preparation:
  1. Make a fine paste of chilli powder and turmeric powder by adding some water.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add onion, garlic, ginger and curry leaves.
  4. Keep stirring and when it turns slightly brown add the masala paste, and fry until the aroma rises.
  5. Add the soaked tamarind, 2 cups water and salt to taste
  6. When it boils add the fish pieces.
  7. Cook half covered on low flame till the gravy thickens and the fish is cooked.
