SouthIndian Recipe: Pumpkin Dal Curry

Ingrediants:
  1. Pumpkin – ¼ kg
  2. Dal – ½ cup
  3. Green chillies (split the edge) – 3 nos
  4. Garlic pods – 3 nos
  5. Chilly powder – ½ tsp
  6. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  7. Cumin seeds – ¼ tsp
  8. Grated coconut – 1 cup
  9. Salt – as required
  10. Water – 1cup

Preparation:
  1. Cook dal by adding one cup of water.
  2. When dal is half cooked add pumpkin, green chilles, turmeric powder and salt.
  3. Roughly grind coconut, cumin seeds, garlic and chilly powder.
  4. Add this to the curry and mix well.
  5. When dal and pumpkin is well cooked and curry begins to thicken remove from fire.
