Indian Recipe: Prawn Masala
Ingrediants:- Prawn - 1/2kg
- Button onion (crushed)- 1/2 cup
- Tomatoes (finely chopped) -1
- Ginger(thinly sliced)- one small piece
- Garlic (crushed) - four flakes
- Green chillies -3
- Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1tsp
- Fish tamarind (socked in water)- 4 to 5
- Oil - 1/4 cup
- Salt - to taste
- Curry leaves - a few
- Water - 1 cup
Preparation:
- Cook prawns along with water, salt ,fish tamarind and turmeric powder.
- Heat coconut oil well, and add the crushed onions and curry leaves.
- When the onions turn brown, add the remaining masala powders and sauté well
- Add tomatoes, ginger, garlic and green chillies and sauté well.
- When the oil appears at the sides,add prawns.
- When the gravy thickens, remove from fire.
