Indian Recipe: Mutton Biryani
Ingrediants:- Mutton - 1kg
- Button onion (thinly sliced)- 1 cup
- Button onion (grind to paste) - 1/4 cup
- Green chillies - 6
- Garlic cloves - 10 nos
- Ginger (thinly sliced)- 1 big piece
- Chilli powder - 1tbsp
- Coriander powder -2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Garam masala -21 tsp
- Coconut oil - 3 tbsp
- Coriander Leaves- a few
Preparation:
- Cook mutton, green chillies, salt and a little water in a pressure cooker.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add the sliced onion,onion paste, garlic, ginger and sauté well.
- Make a paste of chilli, coriander, turmeric and garam masala powders by adding a little water.
- Add this to the pan and fry for 5 more minutes.
- Then add mutton and cook till gravy thickens.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Prepare rice as described in Biryani Rice
- In a tray first place a layer of rice, then place a layer of mutton.
- Repeat this till all the mutton and rice is placed.
- Serve the Biryani with pappadam, lime pickle and raitha.
