Indian Recipe: Mutter Paneer
Ingrediants:- Paneer cubes - 500 gm
- Green Peas -250 gm
- Onions (finely chopped) -2
- Tomatoes (chopped) -3
- Green Chillies - 5
- Chiily powder - 1 tbsp
- Ginger-garlic paste - 2 tbsp
- Coriander powder-1tbsp
- Cumin powder-1 tsp
- Garam masala - 1/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder-1/4 tbsp
- Oil - 6 tbsp
- Water - 11/2 cup
- Salt to - as required
- Coriander leaves chopped - 1/2 tbsp
Preparation:
- In a pan add 3 tbsp of oil and fry the paneer until it becomes golden brown.
- In another pan add rest of the oil and fry chopped onions and ginger-garlic paste until onions begins to change its color to brown.
- Make a paste of the cumin, chilly, coriander, turmeric and garam masala powders by adding a little water.
- Add this to the pan and fry for about 5 mins gently.
- Add the ground dry spices and fry some more for about 5 mins gently.
- When a nice aroma comes, add chopped tomatoes.
- And stir around on highest heat for a few mins.
- After about 5 mins add water and bring to simmer.
- Then add the previously fried cubes of paneer to the pot and let it simmer for a few minutes more.
- Then add the green peas and simmer with the lid partially on for about 20 mins.
- When the curry is of the consistency that you prefer switch the flame off
- Garnish with chopped coriander leafs.
