SouthIndian Recipe: Kappa and Beef
(Kappa Biryani)
Ingrediants:
- Tapioca (cut into small pieces) – 2 medium size
- Beef with a little bit fat – ½ kg
- Onion (thinly sliced) – 1 no
- Green chillies – 2 no
- Ginger (crushed) – 2 cm long piece
- Button onion (crushed) – 5 pods
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Chilly powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 ½ tsp
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves –a few
- Oil – 4 tbsp
- Salt – as required
Preparation:
- In a pan cook tapioca, salt and enough water to cover them.
- When tapioca is cooked drain the excess water and keep aside.
- Cook beef, onion, ginger, salt along with half portion of chilly and turmeric powder.
- In a pan heat oil and add button onion, curry leaves and all the spices.
- Fry them till button onion and spices are well fried and oil starts to separate.
- Add cooked tapioca, beef and ¼ cup of water and mix well.
- When the curry begins to thicken remove from flame.
