Indian Recipe: Gooseberry Pickle
Ingrediants:- Gooseberry – 1 kg
- Chilly powder – 1 cup
- Refined oil – ½ cup
- Mustard seeds – 3 tbs
- Fenugreek powder – ¼ tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tbsp
- Asafetida – ¼ tbsp
- Salt – as required
Preparation:
- Steam cook gooseberry till it is half done.
- Remove the water that came from gooseberry.
- Dry roast mustard seeds with out burning.
- Remove the skin of the mustard seeds by rubbing them with hand.
- Make a paste of chilly powder, mustard seeds, fenugreek, turmeric powder, asafetida and salt by adding a little oil.
- Add this paste and remaining oil to the cooked gooseberry and mix well.
