SouthIndian Recipe: Garlic Cabbage-
Thoran
Ingrediants:
- Cabbage (thinly sliced) – ½ of a small one
- Button onions – 3 no
- Garlic pods – 4 no
- Grated coconut – 2 handfuls
- Chilly powder – ¼ tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – a few
- Salt – as required
Preparation:
- Coarsely grind button onions, garlic, chilly powder and grated coconut.
- Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
- Add curry leaves and ground mix and sauté for a few seconds.
- Add the cabbage and salt and sauté well.
- Lower the heat and put the lid on.
- Cook till the cabbage is really tender.
- Remove the lid and in a high flame fry till all excess water is evaporated.
