Indian Recipe: Fish Masala
Ingrediants:- Fish - 1kg
- Button onion (crushed) - 1/2 cup
- Tomatoes (finely chopped) -2
- Ginger(thinly sliced)- one small piece
- Garlic (crushed) - four flakes
- Green chillies -3
- Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1tsp
- Vinegar - 3 to 4 tbsp
- Oil - 1/4 cup
- Salt - to taste
- Curry leaves - a few
- Water - 1 cup
Preparation:
- Clean the fish and make gashes on both sides.
- Make a paste with pinch of turmeric powder, ¼ tbsp of chilly powder and salt.
- Apply well on the fish.
- Now slightly fry on a pan by adding a little oil and keep aside for a while.
- Heat coconut oil well, and add the onion and curry leaves.
- When the onions turn brown, add the remaining masala powders and sauté well
- Add tomatoes, ginger, garlic and green chillies and sauté well.
- When the oil appears at the sides, add vinegar, water and fish.
- When the fish is cooked and the gravy thickens, remove from fire.
