Indian Recipe: Crab Fry
Ingrediants:- Crabs (cleaned and cut into 4 pieces) -5
- Coconut (cut into small pieces) - 1/4 cup
- Fish tamarind soaked in water (Kodam puli) - 3 to 4 flakes (as required)
- Ginger (cut into long pieces) - 1 tbsp
- Button onion (crushed) - 4 to 5 pods
- Chilly powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Coconut oil - 4 tbsp
- Salt - as required
- Water - 1/4 cup
- Curry leaves - a few
Preparation:
- Cook crabs along with coconut pieces, fish tamarind, ginger, salt and 1/4 cup of water for about 1 hr.
- In a pan heat oil and fry crushed onion, curry leafs and all the spicy powders with out burning.
- When oil begins to separate from onions add cooked crab and sauté well for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Serve hot with rice.
