Indian Recipe: Coconut Beef/ Mutton Curry
Ingrediants:
- Beef/ Mutton (cut
into small pieces)
– ½ kg
- Potatoes (cut
into small cubes) – 2 nos
- Onion (thinly
sliced) – 1 no
- Thin coconut milk
– 1½ cup
- Thick coconut milk
– ½ cup
- Green chillies
– 2 nos
- Ginger (thinly
sliced)– 2 cm piece
- Chilly powder
– 1 tsp
- Coriander
powder – 1½ tsp
- Turmeric powder
– ¼ tsp
- Garam masala
– 1 tsp
- Salt
– as required
- Oil –
3 tbsp
- Curry
leaves – a few
Preparation:
- Pressure cook mutton along with green chillies, ginger, ½ amount of all powders and salt till tender.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry onion, remaining amount of powders and curry leaves.
- Fry till oil starts to separate from the mixture.
- Add potatoes and thin coconut milk to mutton and cook till potatoes are done.
- Add the thick coconut milk and simmer fro 5 to 10 mins
- Add this to the curry and serve hot with rice.
