Indian Recipe: Coconut Beef/ Mutton Curry

Ingrediants:
  1. Beef/ Mutton (cut into small pieces) – ½ kg
  2. Potatoes (cut into small cubes) – 2 nos
  3. Onion (thinly sliced) – 1 no
  4. Thin coconut milk – 1½ cup
  5. Thick coconut milk – ½ cup
  6. Green chillies – 2 nos
  7. Ginger (thinly sliced)– 2 cm piece
  8. Chilly powder – 1 tsp
  9. Coriander powder – 1½ tsp
  10. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  11. Garam masala – 1 tsp
  12. Salt – as required
  13. Oil – 3 tbsp
  14. Curry leaves – a few
Preparation:
  1. Pressure cook mutton along with green chillies, ginger, ½ amount of all powders and salt till tender.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry onion, remaining amount of powders and curry leaves.
  3. Fry till oil starts to separate from the mixture.
  4. Add potatoes and thin coconut milk to mutton and cook till potatoes are done.
  5. Add the thick coconut milk and simmer fro 5 to 10 mins
  6. Add this to the curry and serve hot with rice.
