Indian Recipe: Chicken Biryani
Ingrediants:
- Basmati rice -2 cup
- Chicken (cut into small pieces) - 1 kg
- Onion (finely
chopped)- 4 medium sized
- Tomato (diced)
- 3 nos
- Vinegar(optional)– 3
tsp
- Ginger-garlic
paste - 2 tsp
- Red chilly
powder - 1tsp
- Coriander
powder - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp
- Garam masala -
1 tsp
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Coriander leaves(finely chopped)- 1 tbsp
- Salt
- As required
Preparation:
- In a pan heat
oil and fry onion,
ginger garlic paste and salt till onion is light
brown in color.
- Make a paste of
all the spices by
adding a little water.
- Add tomatoes
and sauté
for 5 more minutes.
- Then add the
masala paste and
saute till oil starts to separate.
- Add the chicken
pieces and vinegar
and cover the pan with a lid.
- Stirring occasionally cook in low
flame till chicken is
soft and tender for about 45min.
- When the gravy
thickens remove from
fire.
- Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves on top.
Serving:
- Prepare rice as described in Biryani Rice
- In a tray first
place a layer of
rice, then place a layer of chicken.
- Repeat this
till all the chicken
and rice is placed.
- Serve the
Biryani with pappadam,
lime pickle and raitha.
