Indian Recipe: Bengal Gram Fry

Ingrediants:
  1. Bengal gram (Kadala parippu)– 1 cup
  2. Onion (thinly sliced) – ½ of one
  3. Ginger (crushed) – a small piece
  4. Button onion (crushed) – 4 pods
  5. Chilly powder – ¼ tbsp
  6. Coriander powder – ½ tbsp
  7. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  8. Garam masala – ½ tsp
  9. Curry leaves – a few
  10. Oil – 4 tbsp
  11. Salt – as required

Preparation:
  1. Cook Bengal gram along with ginger and onion, by adding one cup of water.
  2. Make a paste of all the spices by adding a little water.
  3. In a pan heat oil and add button onion, curry leaves and the spice paste
  4. Fry until oil starts to separate from the onion and a nice aroma comes.
  5. Add the cooked Bengal gram and salt and mix well.
  6. Remove from flame and serve hot with rice.
