Indian Recipe: Bengal Gram Fry
Ingrediants:- Bengal gram (Kadala parippu)– 1 cup
- Onion (thinly sliced) – ½ of one
- Ginger (crushed) – a small piece
- Button onion (crushed) – 4 pods
- Chilly powder – ¼ tbsp
- Coriander powder – ½ tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – a few
- Oil – 4 tbsp
- Salt – as required
Preparation:
- Cook Bengal gram along with ginger and onion, by adding one cup of water.
- Make a paste of all the spices by adding a little water.
- In a pan heat oil and add button onion, curry leaves and the spice paste
- Fry until oil starts to separate from the onion and a nice aroma comes.
- Add the cooked Bengal gram and salt and mix well.
- Remove from flame and serve hot with rice.
