Indian Recipe: Beef Roast with
Potato Wedges

Ingrediants:
  1. Beef/ Mutton – ½ kg
  2. Onion (thinly sliced) – 2 nos
  3. Tomatoes (finely chopped) – 1 no
  4. Potatoes (cut into 2inch long pieces) - 1 medium sized one
  5. Ginger (thinly sliced) – 2 cm piece
  6. Garlic pods (crushed) – 6 nos
  7. Chilly powder – 1 tsp
  8. Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  9. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  10. Garam Masala powder – 1; tsp
  11. Oil – 3 tbsp
  12. Salt – as required
  13. Water – 1 cup
  14. Curry leaves – a few
  15. Coriander leaves (finely chopped) – a few
Preparation:
  1. Deep fry potatoes till golden brown and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry onions, ginger, garlic, curry leaves and salt.
  3. Fry till onions begins to change its color to light brown.
  4. Add tomatoes and fry till tomatoes are cooked.
  5. Mix all the powders with a little water and make a paste.
  6. Add this to the pan and fry well.
  7. Add Beef/ Mutton pieces and 1 cup of water and mix well.
  8. Lower heat and cover the pan with the lid.
  9. Stirring occasionallys cook till Beef/ Mutton is soft.
  10. Open the lid and cook in low flame till the gravy thickens.
  11. Add the fried potatoes and mix well.
  12. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  13. Serve hot with rice or chapattis.
