Indian Recipe: Beef Roast with
Potato Wedges
Ingrediants:
- Beef/ Mutton
– ½ kg
- Onion (thinly
sliced) – 2 nos
- Tomatoes
(finely chopped) – 1 no
- Potatoes (cut into 2inch long pieces) - 1 medium sized one
- Ginger (thinly
sliced) – 2 cm piece
- Garlic pods (crushed)
– 6 nos
- Chilly powder
– 1 tsp
- Coriander
powder – 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder
– ¼ tsp
- Garam Masala
powder – 1; tsp
- Oil –
3 tbsp
- Salt
– as required
- Water
– 1 cup
- Curry leaves
– a few
- Coriander
leaves (finely chopped) – a few
Preparation:
- Deep fry
potatoes till golden brown and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry onions, ginger, garlic, curry leaves and salt.
- Fry till onions begins to change its color to light brown.
- Add tomatoes
and fry till tomatoes are cooked.
- Mix all the
powders with a little water and make a paste.
- Add this to the
pan and fry well.
- Add Beef/
Mutton pieces and 1 cup of water and mix well.
- Lower heat and cover the pan
with the lid.
- Stirring occasionallys cook till Beef/ Mutton is soft.
- Open the lid
and cook in low flame till the gravy thickens.
- Add the fried
potatoes and mix well.
- Garnish with
coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with
rice or chapattis.
