Indian Recipe: Aloo Gobi
Ingrediants:- Cauliflower (cut into small pieces) –½ of a small one
- Potato (cut into small pieces) - 2 small
- Onions (finely chopped) – 1 no
- Tomato (diced) - 1 no
- Chilly powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder –2 tsp
- Turmeric powder –¼ tsp
- Cumin seeds (Jeerakam) –¼ tsp
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
- Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Salt –as required
Preparation:
- Heat oil in a pan and splutter cumin seeds.
- Make a paste of all the spices by adding a little water.
- Fry onion till light brown in color.
- Add tomato and spice mix and fry till oil starts to separate from the mixture.
- Add potatoes, salt and 1 cup of water and mix well.
- Cover the pan with a lid and lower the heat.
- When potatoes are half cooked add the cauliflower.
- Cook in low flame till vegetables are done .
- When the curry begins to thicken remove from fire.
- Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves on top.
