Indian Recipe: Goan Beef/ Mutton Curry

Ingrediants:
  1. Beef/ Mutton – ½ kg
  2. Onion (finely chopped) – 2
  3. Green Chillies – 6
  4. Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  5. Aniseeds (perum jeerakam)  – 1 tsp
  6. Ginger (thinly sliced) – 2inch piece
  7. Coconut milk – 1 ½ cup
  8. Garlic pods- 10
  9. Lemon - 1
  10. Oil – 2 tbsp
  11. Salt – as required
  12. Coriander leaves – a few

Preparation:
  1. Grind 3 green chillies, aniseeds, turmeric powder, ginger, garlic, and half of coriander leaves into a fine paste.
  2. Marinate Beef/ Mutton with this paste for 1 hr
  3. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and sauté chopped onions and green chillies till onions begin to change its color to slight brown.
  4. Add Beef/ Mutton, salt and a little water and cook till Beef/ Mutton is done.
  5. Add coconut milk and cook till gravy thickens.
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and sliced lemon.
